Buick Rare 1935 Buick 46C Convertible Coupe project Picture and Description:
Normal 0 This is your chance to own a very rare 1935 Model 46C convertible coupe with a rumble seat option. I have had this car since the early '80"s and am going to see if anyone is interested in finishing it as I have other projects that I am going to focus on. I have over $50,000 invested in the car so far including much professional body, wood and paint work by Shade Tree Motors in Medina Ohio. While the car is a project, much has been completed as follows: Just about all body wood was replaced and new seat springs made and installed. The body was repaired as needed and painted the original dark blue. I have had much of the chrome done over the years, although not all. There are pictures included. I used a few quality platers including the company in Grafton Ohio. The car has new wide whitewalls and also an aluminized exhaust. The chassis was sandblasted and finished in the proper black. The headlights have a choice for either original reflectors or glass lenses, or convert to sealed beams. Both sets of parts are included. I have a new wiring harness and a lot of new rubber for the car. I also have new glass cut for the windshield, door windows and vent windows. All of those window frames are re-chromed, but glass is not mounted. The car has thee desirable side mounts. What is needed is the interior and convertible top cloth. The dash needs to be wood grained as do the door garnishes. The engine I have was supposed to be a strong running engine but I have not confirmed that. It is currently out of the car, as is the transmission. There are the two header pot metal assemblies for the top that are damaged and would need repair and replating. Pictures are included. I believe that there were only about 900 + of these models made, and likely not too many left. The restoration shop I used for the body also made a trip to look at a completed car like this and took a lot of pictures, which will go to the buyer of the vehicle. The bumpers have not been chrome plated and I do not have the brackets for them. They should be available as they are the same for other 40 series Buicks. A similar car was sold on E-Bay a year or so ago for $55,000. It would be a great car, and if no one is seriously interested, I will probably keep to finish. Call if you have any questions. Ted 440-478-6801. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer, although I can provide a quote for delivery within 600 miles of Cleveland, Oh. I purchased a replacement title through the business in Alabama a long time ago and if I can still locate it, will go with the car, otherwise a bill of sale only
