NO MONKEY BUSINESS!!!! SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY!!!!! DON’T BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BUY!!!! DON’T WASTE MY TIME OR YOURS………. I WILL NOT TELL YOU MY RESERVE!!!!!!!! NOTE: The Boyd Coddington rims and tires do NOT come with the car. The car will be sold with a set of "rollers".NOTE 2: I have more pictures of the other parts such as windshield stainless, pinchweld molding, rear seat frame, rear arm rests, and other "boxed" parts. I ran out of pictures and wanted to show more of the body of the car. These pix are available upon request. This auction is for my 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible project car. I have had this car since 2004. I bought it as someone else's unfinished project- now it is time for me to do the same and sell it, since my priorities in life have changed & i'm trying to buy property. I bought the car in boxes, with brand new floors already installed (they have since been POR'd). I proceeded to have brand new quarters, inner quarters, rain gutters and quarter panel tops installed as well- there are a few pictures of the work in progress (I have more- please request if interested). The pictures shown after the clear California title pic show the car after I brought it home from the body shop. You can see that all of the gaps were perfect!!! The quarters to the doors, the doors to the fenders, the fenders to the rocker panels were all spot on & perfect. Then I had to take the body off the frame for the custom framework I had done (discussed more later); when I brought the car home from the frame shop, the doors and fenders were still off the car. I recently put the doors and fenders on for the pictures- I would make a horrible bodyman, because I have no idea how to get the everything to line up. Needless to say, everything needs to be adjusted for final alignment. The entire car had been sandblasted and was not sealed, so the areas that haven't been worked on have started to surface rust- most notable is the dash and cowl areas. The previous owner had begun to weld up all the holes on the cowl, as shown in the pictures. I spent a little time removing the rust, but i would recommend that the new owner have it media blasted to do the job right. But instead of primering it, I decided to leave it as is to show the new owner there's nothing to hide. Also, I had the car outside for a short time- although it was covered, moisture did cause the body to surface rust in some spots. You might be able to see some spots in the pix.The cowl tag had been removed by a previous owner, and I found one in the boxes of parts included when i bought the car. I do not think it is original to the car because it decodes as a sierra gold convert, but my car does have remants of turquoise/ greenish blue. The pictures following the cowl tag picture were taken within the last week.THE BODY SHELL OF THE CAR IS TOTALLY RUST FREE!!!! (outside of the previously mentioned surface rust- NO ROT IN THE CAR AT ALL!!) The only rust is in the doors and fenders- both doors have rust holes on the skins at the bottom as shown in the pictures. Also both have rust on the inside near the bottoms, and on the bottom surface of the doors (might be easier to understand if i sent a picture). The driver's front fender has a little rust in bottom as is typical. The passenger's front fender is rust free- some of the first pictures show the car with a blue passenger side fender; i have since replaced that one with the greenish, rust-free one shown in the pictures. The greenish one is rust free, but has a slight dent on the top (you can't really see it in the picture) and a very small gash (around a quarter inch) near the antenna hole. I can email further pictures of this if you'd like. The driver's side front inner quarter panel required slight modification during installation- please see the picture immediately after the cowl tag pic- but everything fits as it should. All the convertible only parts are included- convertible top frame in great shape, windshield stainless, pinchweld molding, quarter garnish trim, convertible rear seat frame, rear piston covers/ armrests. Front and rear windows and frames are included, but are not in good condition. No front seat. (I was going to install a set of 62-65 Impala buckets- I have a nice set if the winning bidder is interested). No engine - no transmission. I have a clean California title, and also have copy of the previous owner's Pennsylvania title issued in 1989. This car currently sits on a standard '57 frame in good solid condition, with no rot. I had the original convertible frame modified by installing a C3 Corvette rear end. If the winning bidder is interested in the C3/ convertible frame, we can discuss after the auction. There are boxes of other parts included as shown in the pictures, such as trim pieces, scraggly door panels, latches, screws, lenses, bumpers, etc. Most of these would probably be replaced during restoration, but whatever I have for the car will come with this auction. The auction can end at anytime and for any reason without notice. The winning bidder is to contact me at auctions end, send a $1000 deposit within 72 hours and the car is to be paid for in full within 10 days of auctions end with no exceptions. The buyer is responsible for shipping. My zip code is 95620 for shipping quote purposes. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime and for any reason without notice.
