Up for auction is this "SOLID" 1976 Porsche 912E that would make a GREAT project car, for you and your son. We are selling it for our customer that has entered their older years of life. It has been sitting for approximately 5+ years, the tank was drain the small amount of gas (tank looks good), installed a new battery, fresh gas and it started right up. As you know this is a "RARE" Porsche for they made approximately 2000 for just this one year "1976". The "911" body is in great condition, no dents but does have a small amount of rust by the cowl (see pic). The factory color is orange and has been repainted years ago but needs to be repainted. The right fender has been replaced but the factory undercoating was not reapplied. The undercarriage has the original factory undercoating and is very solid. The front pan is in good condition and is clean around the battery. It runs good and would be a very reliable car with this 2.0 Litre VW Type-4 engine with the Porsche 915, 5-speed transmission. The air pump doesn't work and the A/C pulley virabrates. The shifter bushing do need to be replaced. It has Fuchs wheels and the tires have alot of thread but they are dry rotten from sitting. The lights are in good working condition but the tailights lens have stress cracks from age. The interior is edgy and the driver's seat is worn. The right and left window regulators do not work. The left door check is broken. It 's one of the few 1976 912E that had a power sunroof but it has been siliconed around the beading, the tubes must be clogged up. The headliner and sunroof liner are in good condition, without any tears but are stained. It has a Blaupunkt radio with cassette. It has after-markert A/C that does not work. The windshield has no cracks or chips and it has a heated rear glass. As a European Collision Repair Shop and Salvage Yard specializing in Porsche, BMW and Mercedes since 1974 I fell this would be a Great Project car that is a Classic Investment.
